Spring Gardens Nursery

Growing a scattered website into one design system.

Spring Gardens is a local plant nursery whose website grew piece by piece, with no visual consistency and no seamless experience across devices. I rebuilt the UI on one structured system of type, spacing, color and modular CSS.

Discovery

The problem wasn't one page. It was every page.

A heuristic evaluation and competitor review showed type, spacing and color changing section to section, so nothing felt like one brand.

How might we turn a site that grew piece by piece into one system that works on every screen?

01 · System

One type family, one palette, one set of rules.

Bricolage Grotesque, a deep green with pops of lime, pink and sunflower, and photography of real plants and people.

02 · Modular CSS

Consistent by default.

Product cards, buttons and sections all come from the same components, and I reorganized repeated styles into modular sections so future changes stay consistent.

03 · Every screen

Refined screen by screen.

Spacing, contrast and layout were tuned across sizes, improving accessibility along the way.
